Like many companies today, you may be concerned about the GDPR regulations hitting us all in 2018. However, could these regulations be good for the business too? We believe they can and explained how at two seminars held in Helsinki and Oslo.

As you probably know The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a regulation with primary objectives to give citizens and residents back control of their personal data and to simplify the regulatory environment for international business by unifying the regulation within the EU. It applies from 25 May 2018 and, unlike a directive, it does not require any enabling legislation to be passed by national governments.

Today it is crucial to know the customer better. We explained how, while adhering to GDPR, you can use analytics to simultaneously maximize sales and build customer satisfaction.

Our CTO Ari presented customer reference story of Ilmarinen – Finland’s oldest Mutual Pension Insurance Company. IBM global sales leader Armand Lange then told about business automation through advanced capture and artificial intelligence.

The seminars were carried out in collaboration with IBM and Houston Analytics. In Finland we heard introductory words from Hannu Löppönen, IBM Analytics. In Norway introductory words were given by Ole Magnus Waage, IBM.

Later we learned about knowing your customer through advanced analytics and machine learning by Houston Analytics CEO Antti Syväniemi.

In both seminars we heard great examples of customer stories. Read more how – in more technical terms – we use artificial intelligence in order to discover all GDPR data within organizations’ data systems.
